Welcoming Ted and Sarah to the IHLS team

We’re delighted to welcome Ted Imrie back to IHLS and introduce Sarah Khoshaba, who joins us through the University of Liverpool’s Law with a Year in Industry programme.

Ted Imrie is a familiar face. He first joined us as a Legal Assistant on the programme, then returned to university to finish his degree after 12 months with the team. He graduated with First-Class Honours and was awarded the Company Law Prize along the way. We were keen to have him back, and Ted is now with us permanently as a Paralegal, building on his year in industry and taking on more responsibility across a range of corporate and commercial legal work.

Sarah Khoshaba is joining us as this year’s Year in Industry Legal Assistant. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Wayne State University in the United States and is an ABA-certified Paralegal, with a litigation background that includes motor vehicle accident claims, slip and fall matters and catastrophic injury cases. She is now completing an accelerated LLB at the University of Liverpool.

Over the next 12 months, Sarah will work closely with the team under mentorship, mainly within our Transaction Support Solution department. Her role includes drafting, negotiating and reviewing legal documents, helping with legal administration and working with clients. She is keen to learn how transactional work is carried out in practice, and how paralegals and trainee solicitors contribute across the UK legal sector.

Reflecting on his previous experience at IHLS and his return to the team, Ted said:

“I really enjoyed my year in industry at the firm and I’m looking forward to picking back up from where I left off! It’s been great to draw on my learnings and compare my understanding since completing my final year of university and I can’t wait to develop and progress even further at IHLS.”

Looking ahead to her year with IHLS, Sarah said:

“I’m really excited to be joining IHLS as part of my Year in Industry. It’s a great opportunity to put what I’m learning at university into practice, gain exposure to a wide range of legal work, and learn from experienced professionals. I’m looking forward to getting more involved with the team, developing my transactional law experience, and continuing to build my legal skills over the coming year.”

It’s always rewarding to see people develop their careers with IHLS, and we’re particularly pleased to welcome Ted back after his successful year in industry.
